The Department of Forensic Medicine
and Toxicology of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College in association
with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka has organized 'QUEST - 2017', a continued Education
Activity on 22nd July 2017 at the Decennial Memorial Hall, Father
Muller Medical College, Kankanady. The theme was "Medical Negligence and Consumer
Protection Act – An Integrated Approach". It began at 9.30 a.m. with the prayer song. Dr Shivaprasad K., Principal, Father Muller
Homoeopathic Medical College welcomed the gathering. He spoke about ancient
medicine and stressed on the theme. The
CEA – 2017 was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais
and Dr Akhilan from the audience. Dr Uday Kumar, Medical Superintendent,
Father Muller Medical College Hospital was the Chief Guest. He then emphasized
on the theme of the integrated approach of Medical Negligence and Consumer
Act. Rev. Fr Vincent Saldanha, Administrator, Father Muller Homoeopathic
Medical College & Hospital said about the implication of laws and acts of
Forensic Medicine and Toxicology in practice for AYUSH practitioners,
particularly, which will help Homoeopathic students as well. Rev.
Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions
gave the Presidential address. He told
about the doctors who are targeted in spite of their dedicated service and said
that this integrated approach of Medical Negligence and Consumer Protection will
be of great help to Practitioners, Faculty and students. The vote of thanks was given by the
Organizing Secretary, Dr Madona Joseph,
Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, FMHMC. The resource persons Dr.MAHABALESH SHETTY
(Prof. & HOD , Dept. Of FMT,KSHEMA), Dr. SHERYL SOARES (Asst Prof. Dept. Of
FMT, KSHEMA), Mr. MANORAJ RAJEEVA (BA,LLB, PGIRDPM, Advocate , District Govt.
Pleader), Dr.SANIL KUMAR (Reader & HOD, dept of FMT, Govt. Homoeopathic medical college , Kozhikode),
Dr. NAGESH K R (Prof. & HOD of FMT , Father Muller Medical College ,
Kankanady), and Dr. AJITH KAMATH (Asst Prof. of Dept. of Agada Tantra, Ayurveda
medical college, Moodbidri) were present for the inaugural function. The
Inauguration concluded with the Institution Anthem at 10.30 a.m.
