National Conference On “Advanced Clinical Nursing Roles”

The Alumni Association of Father Muller College of Nursing in collaboration with Department of  Nursing Administration and second year post graduate students  organized a National Conference on “Advanced Clinical Nursing Roles’  on 23/07/16 in Decennial Memorial Hall. The Alumni President, Ms. Darryl Aranha, was the organizing chairperson and Mrs. Shiji P.J, HOD, Dept of Nursing Administration was the organizing Secretary. Mrs Tika Khanal Bhavani, II M Sc Nursing, was the student organizing Secretary.

The first session commenced at 9.00am on the theme Advanced Nursing Practice: implementation in Indian scenario by Col. Binu Sharma, Senior Vice President , Nursing Service, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Bengaluru. The session was followed by the inaugural function. Rev.Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator, FMMCH was the president of the ceremony and Col. Binu Sharma, Senior Vice President, Nursing Service, Columbia Asia Hospital was the Chief Guest.  The annual Alumni bulletin - Nightingale was released by Prof. Victoria D’Almeida, Vice Principal, FMCON and the e-SOUVENIR of the conference was released by Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho

The second session on “Strategies to promote advanced nursing practice in India” was delivered by Capt. Sandhya Shankar, Group HR Head - Nursing and Group head - Quality Education & Training Max Health Care Ltd, New Delhi. The session was followed by the scientific paper/ poster presentation and simultaneously the General Body Meeting of the Alumni Association was held. The last session on  â€œHealth care quality: present day challenge for nurses” was  delivered by Capt. Ajitha P.S, Chief Nursing Officer, Meitra Hospital, Calicut. During the closing ceremony at 4pm, the winners of the Best Scientific Paper and Best Poster presentation were awarded by the Capt Ajitha P S, and Prof. Victoria D’Almeida distributed the certificates to the participants.
