Farewell to Sr Aileen Mathias, Chief Nursing Officer
A farewell felicitation function was
organized on Tuesday, 30th August 2016 at 4.00pm in the Academy Hall
to thank Sr Aileen Mathias, the Chief Nursing Officer of Father Muller Medical
College Hospital for her long-standing service in various capacities for over
27 years.
Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator of the
Hospital welcomed the gathering. In his welcome address he appreciated Sr
Aileen for her dedicated and meritorious services to the Hospital as well as
welcomed the new CNO, Sr Janet D’Souza and wished her well. In the Presidential message the Director, Rev Fr Patrick Rodrigues, placed on record the exemplary services of Sr Aileen to this Institution for the past 27
years also stating that she was an asset to the Institution. He also mentioned
that she has been instrumental in preparing the Nursing Manual which has been
appreciated by all the Hospitals in and around Karnataka. The Director
congratulated her on her many achievements and wished her well in her future
assignments.
Mrs Mary Lasrado, Nursing Superintendent read
the Citation in appreciation of Sr Aileen Mathias which was followed by the
Honouring ceremony by the Management. This was followed by farewell songs and a
short video on Sr
Aileen.
Sr Aileen thanked the Management for giving
her the opportunity to serve in this Institution for many years. She also thanked
all the Staff with whom she worked for helping her to serve the Institution
with dedication.
The programme came to a close with Dr Uday
Kumar, Medical Superintendent proposing the vote of thanks and thanking the
Management and all present for gracing the occasion.

Rev Sr Aileen mathias
The hallmark and brand name of an Institution among other factors, depends on the
individuals who have served the Institution. That too not with the number of
years one has worked but the commitment, involvement and innovation with which
one has worked. Sr Aileen Mathias, the
Chief Nursing Officer, is a person who has made an exceptional mark in all
these areas. In these 27 years of protracted
service in this Institution, she is leaving behind indelible & memorable footprints of her unstinted contribution to the
Institution.
Sr Aileen Mathias was
born to Late Mr. Augustin Leo Mathias and Mrs Mary Mathias on 16.06.1961 at
Mukamar in Belman. After her primary and high school studies, she joined the Congregation
of Sisters of Charity on 06.09.1981. Academically she had pursued GNM
Course in Father Muller School of Nursing in 1989 with 3rd rank, PB
B.Sc. Nursing in 1998 with distinction and M.Sc. Nursing in 2003. Her other scholastic pursuits include a
Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Development at Roshni Nilaya as well as
Management Technique and Clinical Updates for Nursing Administrators at Indian
Society of Health Administrators at Bangalore. As a professional she has worked in various
capacities in Father Muller Charitable Institutions such as Ward Incharge, Operation Theatre Incharge and Staff Nurse
Incharge of Rural Health Centre, Badyar. She was promoted as Professor in
Father Muller College of Nursing and as Chief Nursing Officer in the year 2012. She has bagged numerous awards and has quite a few accolades to her
credit over the past years of her career. She is a much sought after Resource
person and is the member of many
professional organizations. She has authored a book named “Father Muller Manual
of Nursing Procedures†in 2010 which
was revised in 2013. This book was well accepted & acknowledged by her peers and was published by
Emmess Medical Publishers, Bangalore as a state-of-the-art manual on Nursing Procedures. She has organized
and attended numerous workshops and conferences and has been the resource
person for National and Regional conferences and conducted several In-service
nursing education programs for staff and students in Father Muller Medical College Hospital. As a Professor in Father Muller College of
Nursing she has zealously
guided PG students in their research work. She is an active member of Karnataka
State Nursing Council and has made
astute and perceptive contribution in various Committees where she was a member.
To sum up Sr Aileen has 27 years of rich and fruitful experience
in Father Muller Charitable Institutions and dedicatedly served Father Muller
Medical College Hospital as Nursing Superintendent and Chief Nursing Officer
for the Past 12 years. She deserves words of appreciation for her meritorious & commendable contribution
in raising Father Muller Medical College Hospital to greater heights. Quality patient care was the sole motto of
her service which she epitomized
with the staff that she interacted with including her band of dedicated nursing
professionals. She is an exemplary
role model for all the nursing fraternity- a leader with exceptional
academic and professional skills.
As she is laying down her office on 31st August 2016, and leaving the portals of this great Institution the Management, Staff and Students wish her well and a fruitful ministry in her new assignment with good health and well being. God bless Sr Aileen.
