GRADUATION CEREMONY 2017 OF FMMC & FMCOSH

The Graduation Ceremony of Father Muller Medical College and Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing was held on Saturday, 1st April 2017 at 5.00 pm in the Father Muller Convention Centre.

 

The program commenced with the Graduands’ procession who were accompanied by the teaching faculty and the dignitaries.  The College of Nursing Band team played festive tunes in honor of the Graduands.  The dignitaries were given a traditional Indian style welcome with Poornakumbha and Aarathi which was followed by invocation.   Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Director In-charge of the Institutions, formally welcomed the gathering.

 

Dr G.K. Prabhu, Director, Manipal Institute of Technology & Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor of Manipal University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese and President of Father Muller Charitable Institutions presided over the function.

 

Dr J.P.Alva, Dean of FMMC and Prof. Akhilesh P.M., Principal of FMCOSH presented the Annual Reports respectively. This was followed by the Graduation Ceremony during which 294 Graduands of BASLP, BPT, B.Sc. MLT, B.Sc. MIT, B.Sc RT, MBBS courses and Medical and AHS Postgraduates were presented with Certificates and Medals. 

 

In his inspiring Graduation Address Dr G.K.Prabhu, the Chief Guest congratulated all the Graduates and asked them to be true ambassadors of Father Mullers which is a service oriented institution.  He also elaborated on the five points they need to follow throughout their mission as health care professionals.  He asked them to be always respectful and grateful to their parents, teachers and their alma mater.

 

Dr Sahana P. spoke on behalf of the graduates expressing her joy and gratitude. 

 

Meritorious Graduates and students were presented with awards and prizes for their achievements in academics and sports activities during the year.

 

Dr G.K.Prabhu, the Chief Guest who had recently taken up the additional responsibility as the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Manipal University was felicitated on the occasion. 

 

Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese delivered the Presidential Address. He called upon all the Graduates to be sincere, dedicated and committed in their profession.

 

Rev. Fr Rudolph R. D’Sa, Administrator, FMMC proposed the vote of thanks. This was followed by a cultural programme presented by the students of FMMC & FMCOSH.

 

The programme was compered by Ms Prerana Bellary, III MBBS and Ms Asmin D’Souza, II BPT.

 

Around 2500 people witnessed this Ceremony.  Graduation Dinner was served to all.
