WORLD BREAST FEEDING WEEK (1st to 7th August 2017)
The World Breast Feeding Week 2017 was inaugurated at
the Hospital Conference Hall of Father Muller Medical College Hospital,
Mangaluru on 1st August 2017 at 10.00 am. Dr Poornima J, Senior Specialist,
Lady Goschen Hospital, Mangaluru was the chief guest of the programme. She enlightened
the audience on the theme of the Breast Feeding Week 2017 and highlighted its
importance. She encouraged the mothers towards “Sustaining Breast Feeding
togetherâ€. Rev. Fr Richard Coelho,
Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions also addressed the gathering. Dr Lakshmipathi welcomed
the gathering & Dr Nishant Krishna proposed the vote of thanks. Rev. Fr
Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator, FMMCH, Dr Jayaprakash Alva, Dean, FMMC, Sr Janet D’Souza, Chief Nursing Officer,
FMMCH were the dignitaries present. This programme was organized by the OBG, Community
Health & Peadiatric Departments of Father Muller College of Nursing & Father
Muller Medical College. Weeklong programmes such as health talks, quiz, games,
poster competition and signature campaigns have been organised at the hospital
and different outreach centers.
