The department of Dermatology in
association with Department of Orthopaedics have conducted Guest Lecture at
Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore on 31st January 2018 at Hospital
Conference Hall. This program was
organized to commemorate Anti leprosy day. The programme started with inauguration,
Dr Sukumar D, Prof & HOD welcomed
the gathering. Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Director
FMCI addressed the gathering. Rev. Fr
Ajith Menezes – Administrator Father Muller Medical College, Dr. Jayaprakash
Alva - Dean FMMC, Dr. Sanjeev Rai – Chief of Medical Services, FMCI, Dr. Uday
Kumar – Medical Superintendent – FMMCH, and Guest speaker Dr. Latheesh Leo were
also graced the Dais during the inaugural function. Dr. Nanda Kishore B, Professor of Dermatology
was felicitated on being awarded Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kannada Rajyotsava
Prashasti for the year 2017 for his service - medical field. Dr. Ramesh Bhat
M, Professor, department of Dermatology was also felicitated on being elected
as IADVL President for the year 2018. Dr. Raghuveer Adiga, Prof & HOD of Dept.
of Orthopaedics introduced the guest speaker to the audience. Inaugural
function concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Meryl Sonia Rebello. Dr.
Latheesh Leo, MBBS, MS, DNB, FNB (Hand & Microsurgery), Unit Chief of Hand
and Microsurgery, Department of Orthopaedics, FMMC delivered a lecture on “Paralytic
hand in Hansen’s diseaseâ€. The guest lecture was well attended by
staff, Post graduates of Father Muller Medical college as well as consultant
Dermatologists and Post graduates of various medical colleges in Mangalore.
