Inauguration & Blessing of Father Muller Indoor Stadium, Gymnasium and Multi Storeyed Parking Zone
Father Muller
Charitable Institutions, having a history of 138 years has ventured into a new
avenue – FATHER MULLER INDOOR STADIUM where FITNESS is the mantra. Sports and fitness are essential in promoting
good health and complete well being of every individual. We, at Father Mullers, firmly believe that ‘prevention is better than
cure’. Taking one more step ahead in our
incessant endeavour to promote good health, Father Mullers is offering Gymnasium,
Badminton court and Zumba sessions for the staff and students as well as the
general public.
The building
complex also houses a Multi Storeyed Parking Zone, which is one of the finest
facilities under the aegis of Father Muller Charitable Institutions. It is a
fully integrated state-of-the-art sports complex of National Standard with
centralized air conditioning and a total playing area of 20,000 sq.ft. The complex has facilities for playing
Badminton (4no’s), Basketball (1no), Volleyball (1no) and a state-of-the-art
Gymnasium with the most modern equipments and a sprawling 4500 sq.ft area with
P.U flooring. The indoor sports area
holds 2no’s of Pool Tables and Table tennis respectively, along with a 1000
sq.ft Squash court.
The multi level
parking area with a total of 85,400sq.ft can accommodate 350 cars at a time.
The Inauguration of
this Facility took place at 9.30 am on 13th March 2018 which marks
the 177th Birth anniversary of the Founder of Father Muller
Charitable Institutions - Rev. Fr Augustus Muller S.J. Shri Pramod Madhwaraj, Hon’ble Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of
Karnataka was the Chief Guest who declared the Sports Complex open by cutting
the ribbon. Smt P.T.Usha, Former Indian Track and Field Athlete, who was the
Guest of Honour unveiled the plaque. Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese conducted the prayer service
and Blessed the premises. A short stage program followed where Rev. Fr Richard
A Coelho, the Director of the Institutions welcomed the gathering.
Addressing
the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister Shri Pramod Madhwaraj congratulated the
Institution for being aware of the importance of sports and for offering these
facilities for the student body and expressed hope that Father Mullers will be
the recipient of the award for their contribution for the sports field.
Speaking
on the occasion, Smt P.T.Usha, the Guest
of Honour, asked the students to utilize the sports and gym facilities offered
by the Institutions to remain healthy and fit.
The
Bishop in his presidential address appreciated the efforts of the Institution
to provide all round facilities to the students. He encouraged the students to make best use
of the sports facilities provided by the Institution and derive maximum
benefit.
The
Architect and all those who helped in constructing the building were honored
with a memento during the programme.
