Institutions’ Day cum Graduation Ceremony 2018 Celebrations
The Institutions’ Day cum Graduation
Ceremony of Father Muller Charitable Institutions was held on 13th
March 2018 which also marks the 177th Birth anniversary of the Founder Rev. Fr Augustus Muller S.J.
The day began with a Thanksgiving Mass at
8am where the Bishop of Mangalore Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza was the
main celebrant.
The Graduation Ceremony of
all the teaching units of FMCI was held at 5.00 pm in the Father Muller
Stadium. The program commenced with the
procession of Graduands from School and College of Nursing, Homoeopathic
Medical College, College of Speech and Hearing, Medical College and Allied
Health Sciences who were accompanied by the teaching faculty and the
dignitaries. The College of Nursing Band team played festive tunes in
honour of the Graduands. The dignitaries were given a traditional Indian
style welcome with Poornakumbha and Aarathi which was followed by
invocation. Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Director of the Institutions,
welcomed the gathering and presented the annual report.
The Chief Guest of the
function was Dr Vedprakash Mishra,
Chancellor, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (deemed to be university),
Karad. Dr H. Veerabhadrappa, President, Karnataka Medical Council (KMC),
Bengaluru, was the guest of honour. Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza,
Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese, President of Father Muller Charitable Institutions
presided over the function.
This was followed by the
Graduation Ceremony during which 654 Graduands of GNM, B.Sc., PB B.Sc. &
M.Sc. Nursing, BHMS, MD (Homoeo), BASLP, BPT, B.Sc. MLT, B.Sc. MIT, B.Sc RT,
MBBS courses, Postgraduates of Medical and AHS courses, 1st batch of Super
Specialist (Urology) & Ph.D. Scholars were presented with Certificates and
Medals.
In his inspiring Graduation
Address, the Chief Guest Dr Vedprakash Mishra,
congratulated all the Graduates and said that today is a historic day
for all them, who have been shaped,
articulated and chiselled to perfection. And they owe their success to the
Institutions, the teachers, parents and well-wishers. He also said that the
country needs not only doctors but also paramedics, nurses and other healthcare
specialists whom the Institution has produced. He asked all the graduates to
carry the Legacy of Fr Muller forward by serving the needy with love and care.

Nursing Graduate spoke on behalf of all the graduates expressing her joy and
gratitude.
Meritorious Graduates and
students were presented with awards and prizes for their achievements in
academics, sports & co-curricular activities during the year. FMCI President’s Gold Medal for the Best
Outgoing MBBS Graduate for the year 2017 was awarded to Dr Sandhya Rao Kordcal.
Addressing the gathering Dr
H.Veerabhadrappa the Guest of Honour said that Education Institute is a sacred
place and education is the only thing that cannot be snatched and the best gift
any parent can give. He asked the
Graduates to give importance to continuous learning process and keep themselves
updated with new knowledge in their respective fields constantly.
In his presidential
address, the Bishop Most Rev. Dr Aloysius P DSouza reminded the graduates to
always remain grateful to their Alma Mater. He called upon all of them to work
hard with dedication, commitment and sincerity and serve the community through
their profession. He also wished them
success in their future endeavours.
Rev. Fr Ajith B. Menezes,
Administrator, FMMC proposed the vote of thanks. This was followed by a
cultural programme presented by the students of FMCI.
The programme was compered
by Ms Arokia Benita & Ms John Neeta
Priyanka Ebnezer, Lecturers of College of Nursing.
Around five thousand
people consisting of graduates, post graduates, staff, parents, alumni, guests
and students witnessed the celebrations.
Graduation Dinner was served to all.
