Laboratory Training on “ISO 15189:2012†at Father Muller Medical College Hospital
Father Muller Medical
College Hospital, in collaboration with Medical Education and Learning Point,
New Delhi organized a four-day training programme on Internal Audit and Quality
Management System (QMS) as per ISO 15189:2012 from 8 -11 August, at the
AudioVisual Hall, Knowledge centre.
A total of 40
participants, including faculty and students from various institutions from
Karnataka and the surrounding states, are the beneficiaries of the programme.
This is the second time
the Laboratory training is being held at the Institute.
The inauguration of the
training was held on 8 August 2018 at 9:30 am. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho,
Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, presided over the function
and delivered his presidential address.
Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa,
Administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Fr Ajit B. Menezes,
Administrator of Father Muller Medical College, Dr Jayaprakash Alva, Dean,
Father Muller Medical College, Dr Neeraj Jain, President of Medical Education
and Learning Point, New Delhi, Dr Umashankar T, Lab Director and others were
present on this occasion.
The programme commenced
by invoking the Almighty in the form of a prayer song.
Dr Jayaprakash Alva,
Dean, FMMC, introduced the resource persons and extended a warm welcome to the
gathering
Dr Neeraj Jain, who
owns the credit of conducting more than 200 NABL training sessions and a senior
NABL assessor and Dr Renu Goyal, a NABL lead assessor were the resource persons
for the training programme.
During the four days
training programme, the participants will be introduced to the clauses of ISO
15189:2012, the international standard for medical testing laboratories. This
training is mandatory for internal auditors and quality managers of labs. This
standard explains the requirements for quality and competence in medical
testing laboratories.
