We've got great news for all badminton lovers out there!
Father Muller Charitable Institutions, in collaboration with Dakshina
Kannada Badminton Association and Golden Shuttle Association, has launched a
new Badminton Coaching Centre at Father Muller Indoor Stadium on Wednesday, 5th
September 2018.
Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable
Institutions, inaugurated the new badminton coaching centre. He mentioned that
the main motive behind the launching of the indoor stadium is to benefit the
students. The emphasis we give to cricket needs to be given to other sports
also. Our students should be more active
and healthy. Secondly, the indoor
stadium is a commitment of Mullers to the city of Mangalore. It is a unique
state of art facility, which was in great demand by the public. Further, he
wished good luck to both the affiliations who have desired to associate with
Father Mullers.
On this occasion, Rev. Fr Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator of Father
Muller Medical College, said that the EPDM rubber mat which is used for the
flooring, is imported from Greece and this is the only indoor stadium in South
Canara to be equipped with such a high-end infrastructure. The badminton court
will be open to the Mullerian family and general public from 6th September 2018.
The badminton coaching centre has been another expansion to the recently
inaugurated Ultra-Modern sports complex which houses other indoor recreations
including kabaddi, handball, volleyball and basketball. The indoor sports
complex is designed to meet the needs of the athletes and is built as per the
universal benchmarks.
Rev. Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator of Father Muller Medical
College Hospital, Dr J.P. Alva, Dean, Office Bearers of Dakshina Kannada
