Guest Lecture - MHA
The first Guest Lecture
of the course for 1st semester-MHA 2018 batch was arranged on
13/10/2018, the second Saturday of the month, at the lecture hall of MHA
department, FMMC.
It was preceded by an
orientation by Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo, Chief Librarian of FMMC Central Library.
She gave a detailed and informative orientation to the 1st semester
MHA students about how to efficiently utilize the central Library. She
exhibited the entire facilities available in the library through slide show. She
also briefed about how the library can be used not only for academic purpose,
but also for dissertation and research purpose too.
Dr. Lobo gave a
demonstration of how to access E-Library facility of FMMC and also Rajiv Gandhi
University website. She distributed ID and Password for each 25 students of the
batch, to facilitate access to the E-library content of central library. The
orientation program that started at 9am lasted for one and a half hour.
The Second Guest Lecture
commenced at 10.30am. Dr Naveen Kumar Professor and H O D of dept. of Hospital Administration
KMC Manipal was the resource person. He enlightened the students about the “Opportunities
and Challenges in Hospital Administrationâ€.
He spoke about how the
administrators are different from managers; what are the fields that an
administrator, especially hospital administrator can specialize in, to climb
the ladder in his/her career.
He also pressed upon
the intrinsic qualities that a good administrator should possess.
He explained the
hierarchical pattern in the administrative field, from junior executive to C E
O and their monthly remuneration range.
The guest for the day
was introduced to the students by Miss Anissa Sonia Corda.
Sr. Stella Abraham
rendered vote of thanks, and concluded the wonderful session with a quote
“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without
hope and confidence.â€
The program ended with
a photo session.
