Awareness Programme on Prevention of Gender violence in India

Internal Complaints Committee along with the Canara Organisation for Development & Peace (CODP) organised a program on “Prevention of Gender violence in India” on 6th December 2018 at FMMC. 25th November marks the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women” and the beginning of the 16 days of activism. In order to use this time period to raise awareness on the issue of gender based violence, this program was organised.

 

Dr Padmaja Udaykumar – Convener, Internal Complaint Committee and two volunteers Ms Sofia Hellenthal and Ms Leoni Alewell from Germany, placed in CODP, Mangaluru, coordinated this awareness program. Students of various courses like MBBS, BPT, Pharm D participated in this program. They pressed their hand prints to show their support to the cause. They also wrote slogans on posters to show their solidarity to eliminate violence against women.
