Report on Awareness Programme on Diabetes Management
An awareness programme on Diabetes Management was organised by
the Continuing Nursing Education Cell of the Nursing Service
Department on 15th December 2018. The session was attended by all the
nurses who were inducted into the Nursing Service Department since November
2017. The session was animated by the Faculty of the Department of the
Endocrinology, Father Muller Medical College Hospital. Dr Shanty George Shaw,
Resident, gave the introduction to Diabetes Mellitus; Dr Karun, postgraduate,
discussed on the drugs used in Diabetes; Mrs Preethi Fernandes, Assistant
Professor of Father Muller College of Nursing enlightened the nurses on the
technique to administer Insulin and Dr Sudeep K, Associate Professor,
threw light on the practical aspects of managing diabetes in patients admitted
in the hospital.
