PTSA (PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION) MEETING 22.12.2018

Parents, Teachers and Student
Association (PTSA) meeting was held on 22.12.2018 for II BHMS (suppl), III BHMS (suppl) & IV
BHMS (Regular) students at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College
Auditorium, Deralakatte. The parents and
the students were asked to register themselves at the registration counter. A total number of 116 parents of students attended
the meeting.
The
inauguration program began at 10: 00 am. It was presided by our Administrator,
Rev. Fr Vincent Saldana, Asst Administrator, Rev. Fr Sylvester Lobo, Principal,
Dr Shivaprasad K, Vice- Principal, Dr Prabhu Kiran, the co-ordinator of the
PTSA meeting, Dr Rita Chakraborthy and
Dr Amitha Baliga ( Chief mentor IVBHMS).
The
program began with invoking the Lord’s blessings through a Prayer song by the students of IV BHMS. Following
that Dr Rita Chakraborty welcomed the gathering. The inauguration of the program was done by lighting the Lamp by the Dignitaries along
with first registered parent and the class representatives of the
Batch.
The Vice
Principal, Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran deliberated on the students’
academics and their achievements. This was followed by the Principal’s session on career
guidance where he explored about what next after BHMS. While talking about
scope of homoeopathic profession he stressed about need of postgraduate studies,
where our college is the only college having MD in seven subjects. Different
scopes like postings at government hospitals, Campus interviews by the renowned
homoeopathic consultancies, research fields, and opportunities in the field of
Pharmaceuticals etc were stressed by him. He also said about encouragement even
to the students given by FMCI to take up research projects. The session ended by the Administrator’s message. He mainly
stressed on the importance of each parent to attend the PTSA meeting which he
expressed through “It is the responsibility of farmer (parent) to come and see
the growth of the seed (their ward) in the field (FMHMC) where they have
sowedâ€. He mentioned about the discipline in campus, in hostel and building of
students’ character and also about efforts taken by management to bring out skilled
doctors. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Amitha P Baliga, Chief mentor of IVBHMS. The inaugural session
ended by lunch break at 12.30 pm.
After a short
break all the parents
and students met the HODs & staff members of the concerned departments to know
the performance of their wards. Two
staff were available from each department for the communication. The
parents were briefed with their wards’ attendance and academic performances. It
was very systematic & smooth.
