Bronchial Artery Embolization procedure done in Fr Muller
Father Muller Medical College Hospital introduced the newer advanced procedure of Bronchial Artery Embolization. It was done successfully on two patients under Dr Don Masarenhas, Head of the Respiratory Medicine department and by Dr Dileep, Interventional Radiologist. These two patients had massive bleeding in the lungs which could not be controlled by medicine. Bleeding was life threatening and patient needed emergency procedure. Patient recovered and is discharged within 3 days of the procedure. This procedure is done in very few centres in India.
