The Dietary Department caters to the dietary needs of the hospital wards, the health check-up patients and the Institutions as a whole.

The entire general hospital is served with diet for the patients. It is prepared as per requests from the Wards/Doctors according to the patients needs. It may vary between the normal diet, diabetic diet, salt restricted diet, bland diet, low protein diet and liquid diet. Food is supplied to each Ward packed in steel carriers and served hot. The private wards are also provided with diet based on the requirements depending on the doctors’ advice.

Services of the Dietician:

The Dietician visits Wards regularly to advise and guide the patients on their food habits, precautions to be taken and also to give health/diet planning to patients who require them during hospitalization and on discharge. The patients are given diet prescription in their own language. This enables the patients to follow a balanced pattern of food intake and maintain healthy food habits.

Cafeteria Services:

The hospital staff such as Staff Nurses, Clerical Staff, Doctors and Medical PGs are provided food in the Cafeteria. The Department looks after the diet needs of Health Checkup patients. There is provision for handling VIPs, Priests and Examiners. Separate space has been arranged for this purpose with adequate facilities.

Farm/Agriculture/Garden:

The Department also supervises the working of the farm workers, procurement, storage and management of the farm products, agricultural products as well as the garden and the greenery around. The Mullerkad farm also maintains piggery and dairy.

Special Occasions/Feasts and Events:

The Department is well equipped to manage parties and banquets on special occasions or feasts
