Training programme held on Staff and Patient rights at Father Muller Medical College Hospital
A training programme
was held on 29th June 2019, as part of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers
(NABH) to new and old staff of the hospital. The trainees comprised of nurses,
allied health staff, technicians and hospital aids. The training consisted of
education and reinforcement of the staff and patient rights to ensure smooth functioning
of the hospital activities wherein staff- patient conflict can be resolved or
avoided. Patient Rights and Education (PRE) form one of the bases of the NABH standards
to which the Father Muller Medical College Hospital strives to maintain with patient centered and organization
centred standards maintaining the accreditation status at par with the world’s
most leading hospital. A pre-test and post test is conducted to assess the
knowledge of training. The training included demonstration, PowerPoint
presentations and case based scenarios with didactic lectures. It was a 3 hour
programme with 200 trainees, conducted by Mrs Jyothi Pinto, Head of Human Resource,
Father Muller Charitable Institutions. The training is conducted bi-annually by
the institution.
