Father Muller Charitable Institutions, along with its NSS unit
members celebrated Vanamahotsava by organizing a massive tree planting drive on
Saturday 06 July 2019 at Father Muller Academy Hall. The theme for this year’s
celebration was “Green Driveâ€.
Dr Ramya Satheesh, NSS Co-ordinator, FMMC extended a cordial
welcome to the gathering and highlighted the importance of the day.
The Chief Guest for the day, Rev. Fr Richard A. Coelho,
Director of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions spoke on the concept of SAVE
EARTH BY GOING GREEN. He mentioned, on how nature has changed his way of
living. He himself has practiced the concept of terrace gardening and this has
been a great stress-buster. He was proud to say that the campus was already
bearing fruits of previous years’ vanamahotsava. He appreciated the efforts put in by all to
make this event possible. He also urged everyone to treat the mother earth in a
way that would be feasible for the younger generations to live in.
The Father Muller College of Nursing played a video clip of
the earlier years’ vanamahotsava. The clip showed the growth of the saplings
planted then to its fruit bearings today. A variety of yields and the efforts
put in by the NSS unit of the nursing college were showcased. The NSS unit of
FMCON was the only unit who cared for the previously planted saplings. For this
the Director gave a token of appreciation to the NSS coordinator of FMCON.
The invitees were honored with a memento in the form of a sapling
as a symbolic representation of celebrating the event.
