Cleft Lip & Palate Centre Inaugration at Father Mullers

Father Muller Medical College Hospital in association with Deutsche Cleft Kinder-Hilfe e.V and Akila Bharathya Mahila Seva Samaja (Reg) has officially started a Cleft Lip and Palate Centre for the 1st time in Mangalore, this being the 16th center in India. The Centre was formally inaugurated on Friday, 14th October 2016 at 10:00 am at the D. M. Hall of the Knowledge Centre, of Father Muller Charitable Institutions. 

The inauguration program began with an audio visual prayer song. Dr. Naveen Rao, Professor Oral Maxillo Facial Surgeon and Cleft Project Director, escorted the dignitaries to the dias and welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest Mr. J. R Lobo, Mangalore south MLA, Govt. of Karnataka, the Guest of Honor Mr. Dushyant R Prasad, Regional Director, South Asia, Deutsche Cleft Kinder-hilfe, Germany and the General Secretary Akila Bharathya Mahila Seva Samaja, Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director Father Muller Charitable Institutions, our Administrators Rev Fr. Richard Coelho and Rev Fr. Rudolph Ravi D’Sa and  Dr Jayaprakash Alva the Dean of our FMMC lit the lamp in a symbolic way. 

The chief guest, Mr. J. R Lobo was introduced by Dr Naveen Rao, who encouraged and appreciated the efforts of starting this new establishment of cleft lip and palate centre. This centre would not come to be, without the pioneering efforts of Mr. Dushyant R Prasad and his support in the field of Cleft lip and Palate. 

Mr Dushyant R Prasad as a Guest of Honour said that Father Muller is a premier Institute known for health care services and also for charitable work. Hence German’s Cleft Children’s Aid Society selected Father Mullers for this project. Certainly this Centre in Father Mullers will make great progress and such unfortunate children will be blessed to have normal life free from stigma. Their Parents will be free from trauma. 

Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director Father Muller Charitable Institutions, in his Presidential address, spoke about his overwhelming appreciation to all those involved in the team work. He promised that Father Muller Medical College Hospital will fulfill the goals of this project. 

The inaugural function ended with Dr. Jyothi Menezes , who proposed the vote of thanks.
