REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
Republic day was celebrated on
the 26th of January 2018 at 8.30 am. Rev. Fr Richard A. Coelho the Director of
FMCI, the Administrators, Assistant Administrators, Dean, Principals, Medical
Superintendent, Staff and students were present on the occasion. The program
began with a prayer song by the BASLP students. Dr Supriya Hegde, Professor, Department
of Psychiatry, FMMC welcomed the gathering.
Dr Shivashankara A.R.,
Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, FMMC unfurled the National
Flag and gave an inspiring message. Emphasizing that we should practice our rights
as well as our duties, he said “many a time, we practice only our rights but
forget our duties. So, instead of asking or waiting for others to do unto us, if
we carry out our duties towards our nation, we will be able to see an enormous
change in the society as well as the country at large.â€
The students of Medical College
and Allied Health Sciences sang patriotic song.
Mrs Diana Cutinha, Lecturer,
FMCON proposed the vote of thanks. Sweets
were distributed to all those who were present.
The whole programme was compered by Dr Terence Derryl L. D’Souza, Senior Resident, Department of Orthopaedics, FMMC.
