CELEBRATING NATURE – VANAMAHOTSAVA AT FATHER MULLERS

 In keeping with the adage “Think Green and Live Green”, Father Muller Charitable Institutions celebrated Vanamahotsava on Saturday, 7th July 2018.  A short stage programme was held in the Father Muller Convention Centre at 3.00 pm which began with a prayer song by the College of Nursing students.  Dr Padmaja Uday Kumar, the Vice Dean of the Medical College welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest Dr K. Sundara Bhat, Professor of General Medicine, FMMC.

The Chief Guest Dr K.S. Bhat, who himself is an avid gardener growing his own soil less roof-top vegetable garden, gave a thought provoking and inspiring message.  He shared a few of his thoughts and insights on gardening which he said not only makes the environment greener and healthier to live in, but also helps him in his interaction with patients and has transformed his lifestyle to a much more healthier and happier one.  He called upon each one to plant at least one plant on the occasion.  He also gave a few suggestions to make the Father Muller campus greener.


In his Presidential Address, Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, the Director of FMCI called upon everyone to go green and preserve this God given beautiful earth in a better condition for the next generations. He informed that efforts have already been made in the Father Muller Campus to have a green environment and the same will be continued with better planning.


The Chief Guest was honored with a memento in the form of a plant sapling.


Saplings were handed over to representatives from the Management, Educational Units and All the Departments, to be planted in the campus and taken care of. 


Ms Dasmin D’Souza of Father Muller College of Speech & Hearing proposed the Vote of thanks.  Ms Sushmitha Ravi Kumar compered the event.


Administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital Rev. Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College Rev. Fr Ajith Menezes, Assistant Administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Rev. Fr Jeevan   Sequiera were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.


The programme was well attended by the Staff and students of Father Muller Charitable Institutions.
