Visit by Christian Co-operative Credit Union Ltd, Dhaka, to Father Muller’s

The Christian Co-operative Credit Union of Dhaka, of Bangladesh headed by its President Mr Babu Markus Gomes and his team visited Father Muller Charitable Institutions on 20th August 2018.

 

The team along with the President  Babu Markus Gomes,  Secretary Pankaj Gilbert Costa with other Professionals like Retd. Major General of Bangla Mr John Gomes, a Cardiologist Dr Hemanta Ignatius Gomes and Mr Liton Thomas Rozario had an interaction with the Director and the Management Committee Members.

 

The Director Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho welcomed the team to Father Muller’s.  Later the M.C. Members – Rev. Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa,  Rev. Fr Ajith Menezes, Rev. Fr Jeevan Sequeira, Dr J.P. Alva, Dr B. Sanjeev Rai, Dr Udaykumar, Dr Padmaja Udaykumar and Sr Janet D’Souza introduced themselves to the team.

 

The team gave a short presentation  highlighting their vision and mission.  The Christian Co-opertive Credit Union Ltd Dhaka was founded by a  Catholic American Priest in the year 1955 with 50 members.  Today the Credit Union consists of 40,000 members  and an asset of 69 million USD.  The main concern of the Credit Union is to render health  care service to the suffering humanity of Dhaka and its outskirts.  Though the Credit Union had established their Hospital namely Divine Mercy General Hospital, unfortunately during the war, the Religious Sisters  left for America due to life threat  and the hospital was nationalised.   Today it is a Government Hospital of Dhaka.   Hence, their mission is to establish Divine Mercy General Hospital of 300 beds to serve the suffering humanity.

 

They went round our Medical College Hospital to see various Departments, Wards and other diagnostics and Laboratory equipments.

 

The main purpose of their visit is to seek guidance regarding Hospital design and planning and later to have  collaboration with our Hospital.

 

Mr R.S. Shettian, Chairman and Managing Director who is also an office bearer of YMCA at the National level, instrumental in bringing the team of Dhaka to visit our Medical College Hospital.
