Christmas celebrated with grandeur at Father Muller Charitable Institutions
Father
Muller Charitable Institutions organised a magnificent Christmas programme, on
15 December 2018, at the Asha Kiran Grounds.
The
programme was organised, especially, for the patients, admitted to the
hospital.
It
began, with a prayer dance.
Fr
Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions,
extended a cordial welcome to the gathering and introduced the chief guest to
the audience.
The
chief guest, Dr M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University,
delivered the Christmas message. "During this Christmas season, we have a
relevant and timely message - Love thy neighbour and be compassionate to
others. It is the will of God. Over 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ was born in
the humblest place imaginable; an ordinary stable in Bethlehem. God sent his
only son to this world of cruelty, nepotism, jealousy and poverty, to bring his
light, into the world of darkness. It is human, to pray for our own desires,
but it is divine, to pray for the needs of others. It is also necessary, that
we lift up the needs of our fellow beings, in prayer and have faith in the
Almighty. All religions, preach the message of love and compassion and hence it
is required of us, to replicate the same." He also emphasized the
importance of 'practice what you preach', in his speech.
Dr
M. Shantharam Shetty, also released the Christmas bulletin and calendar, of
Father Muller Charitable Institutions, on the same occasion.
The
audience witnessed scintillating performances, showcased by various units of
FMCI. The students of the institute, also presented delightful performances,
including a play on the birth of Jesus Christ, tableau messages and
multilingual Christmas carols were sung on the occasion.
To
usher in the festive look, a lucky draw contest was held for the audience. Sr
Janet D’ Souza, Chief Nursing Officer, distributed prizes to the winners of the
lucky draw.
Administrators,
Assistant Administrators, Spiritual animators, Principals, Heads of various
units of FMCI, staff and students were present.
Ms
Binsha, Associate Professor, Dept of Psychiatric Nursing, FMCON and Ms Nirmala,
Asst Lecturer, FMSON compered the programme. Ms Jasmine Sarita Vas, Principal,
FMCON proposed the vote of thanks.
