CNE ON VITAL SIGNS: IMPORTANT INDICATORS TO HEALTH
A Continuing Nursing Education Programme on
Vital Signs: Important Indicators to Health, was organised by the
Continuing Nursing Education Cell of the Nursing Service Department on 9th
March 2019. The speaker for the session was Dr Smitha Bhat, Professor, Department
of Medicine, Father Muller Medical College. During the session, Dr Smitha
Bhat explained about the various methods of assessing temperature, sites of
checking pulse and the use of the Early Warning Signs chart. She also
demonstrated the procedure of monitoring blood pressure using a checklist.
The nurses also had an opportunity to practice the method of assessing the
blood pressure. Dr Alphy Phlips, Intern, Father Muller Medical
College assisted the nurses in learning to assess the blood pressure.
