'Detect' a CME
The Department of
Pathology & Microbiology, FMHMC organized a CME "DETECT" on
"The utility of Laboratory investigations in Clinical practice" on
21/02/2016 in the College auditorium from 2 – 5 pm.
Dr Shrikala Baliga, Professor, Department of Microbiology, KMC, Mangaluru &
Dr Jyoti Kini, Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology, KMC, Mangaluru
were the resource persons of the day.
The CME was inaugurated by Rev Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, Administrator, FMHMC
& H. Dr Shivaprasad, Principal,
FMHMC, welcomed the gathering. In his inaugural message, the Administrator
emphasized the necessity of progression in the homoeopathic system of medicine
to the present era utilizing the advanced technologies. Updating homoeopaths
with the modern laboratory investigations would be one such step towards
progression.
Dr Shrikala Baliga discussed on the common microbiological tests done & its
interpretation in clinical practice.
Dr Jyoti Kini in her presentation, stressed mainly on the wide spectrum of Laboratory tests done for Anemia which is the most common conditions seen in day today practice. Her presentation through clinical cases was much appreciated. She also gave a bird’s eye view on FNAC, Histopathology, etc.
Dr Deepa Pais, Convener of the CME programme, gave away the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the institution anthem.
The CME was organized aiming at the utility of Laboratory investigations in clinical practice with a focus on the outgoing students, Interns & Postgraduates. 250 students & 20 faculty members utilized the benefit.
