Overview
The department of surgery & Homoeopathic therapeutics was established in the year 1987 as a part of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College. In the early days the department was managed by Dr. H.W Furtado, one of the reputed surgeons of Father Muller Medical College & Hospital, Kankanady, Mangalore.
Later, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College was shifted from Kankandy to Deralakatte in 2006 The Department is equipped with a Museum, H.O.D's room and Staff room. It has got one departmental library. The department teaches II & III BHMS students. At the end of III BHMS academic session, they appear for RGUHS examinations. The students get training in their clinical classes in IPD as well as in the OPD(Surgery, ENT, OPTHALMOLOGY units
The staffs are involved in patient care in the OPD on regular basis, where students, interns and PGs are given training in important aspects of case taking, repertorisation, examination skills and IPD procedures
