  • Dr Scandashree K, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology secured First Prize in the Oral Presentation titled “Across sectional study to evaluate antimicrobial usage according to WHO – access, watch, reserve (aware) classification in the surgical wards of a tertiary health care centre in Dakshina Kannada District” at a National Conference of Pharmacovigilance and Outcomes of Research jointly organized by the NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and ISPOR NITTE, Student Chapter, Mangaluru on 02.12.2022 & 03.12.2022.
  • Dr Jostol Pinto, Associate Professor of Cardiology is designated as Fellow of the Indian Society of Electrocardiology (FISE) certified on 19.11.2022.He has co-authored a Chapter titled “Single Antiplatelet Therapy versus Dual Antiplatelet Therapy versus Dual Pathway Inhibition Therapy in Vertebral Artery Disease” which is published in a textbook titled Advances in CLOT Treatment (ACT), First Edition, 2023 (ISBN:978-93-5696-094-7).
  • Dr Chandini, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry received the ‘Resilience Award’ at the 6th National Symposium on Women’s Mental Health & Perinatal Psychiatry at Chandigarh on 10th December 2022.

  • Dr Archana Bhat, Associate Professor of Pathology appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of RGUHS Journal of Allied Health Sciences for two years up to 31.05.2023. She has authored a textbook titled “Essentials of Renal Pathology”.
  • Dr Manjunath J. Professor & HOD of Nephrology appointed as the Assistant Editor of RGUHS Journal of Allied Health Sciences for two years up to 31.05.2023.
  • Dr Rochelle Cheryle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology completed the one year course on “Effective Writing for Health Care Program (EWHC)” from 01.06.2022 to 15.06.2023 from Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, US.
  • Prof. Cherishma DSilva appointed as the first Principal of Father Muller College of Physiotherapy on 27.09.2023. She has presented a paper at International Conference of Multinational Association of Cancer Care #MASCC2023 held in Nara, Japan on 24.06.2023. She was the only Indian physiotherapist to represent from India and our Institution at this platform in the field of Exercise Oncology.
  • Dr Reshma G. Kini, Professor of Pathology completed the Advance Course in Medical Education and also has won the Best Poster Award at the NMC Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME) conducted on 04.08.2023 by the NMC Nodal Centre for Faculty Development at KAHER’S J.N. Medical College, Belagavi. She was also chosen for fellowship at foundation for Advancement in International Medical Education & Research (FAIMER) at Seth GS medical college, Mumbai.

  • Dr Jyothi Jayaraman, Assistant Professor of Dermatology received - Community Dermatology Award for her project titled “Teledermatological tracking and prevention of cashew nut dermatitis” DERMLINK Research Grant received from International Foundation for Dermatology through the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS).
  • Dr Ramesh Bhat M, Professor of Dermatology was honoured during World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) Singapore from July 2-8, for having served the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) from 2019-2023. Dr Ramesh Bhat M was the first elected Indian International Director in the history of ILDS.
  • Dr Rochelle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology, has been awarded the DERMLINK 2023 Research Grant (International) under the International Foundation for Dermatology through the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS)for the community based research project “Closing the cycle of marginalization- Migrant Workers and Neglected Tropical Disorders of Skin (NTDs) in South India”. Only one project per country is selected for this prestigious grant among a multitude of applicants.

  • Dr Shivashankara A.R., Professor of Biochemistry has won first prize in E-Poster presentation for his paper titled “Evaluation of effectiveness of an online, case-based, self directed learning programme in Biochemistry for first year medical students” during the 12th National Conference on Health Professions Education held from 26th to 30th October 2021 at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Amritsar.
  • Dr Sudhir Prabhu, Professor of Community Medicine has been nominated as External Member (Allied Field) in the Board of Studies of MSW, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya (Autonomous), Mangalore.
  • Dr Anston Vernon Braggs, Assistant Professor of Radio Diagnosis has won third prize for e-poster presentation titled “Assessment of Inter-observer variability in CT – severity scoring protocols in Sars Cov-2 infection” in the ‘Scientific exhibit’ category during the virtual third Annual National Conference of Society of chest imaging and intervention (SCII – CON 2021) held in the month of September/October /November 2021.
  • Dr Shruthi, Assistant Professor of Microbiology has won second prize for presenting an e-poster titled “Simulation based approach in learning microbiological sample collection techniques” at Simulcon 2021, 3rd Annual International Simulation Conference held virtually from 3rd to 5th December 2021. She is also been awarded the Certification as a “Certified Professional in Biorisk Management” by the Certification body of the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA).
  • Dr B.M. Zeeshan Hameed, Professor of Urology has been selected as the Chairman of Youth Section of Urological Section of India (YOU-USI) from year 2022 to 2024. He has also received “SS BAPAT Prize” for ideas and Innovation and “USI Member Travelling Fellowship” during the 55th USICON 2022, the annual conference of Urological Society of India held at Ahmedabad from 27.01.2022 to 29.01.2022.
  • Dr Jyothi Jayaraman, Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Dr Rochelle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology have secured first and third prize respectively in the ACAD Quiz 2021-22 series organized during the e-DERMACON 2022, 50th National Conference of IADVL held from 4th to 6th February 2022.

  • Dr Sudhir Prabhu, Professor & HOD of Community Medicine Department has been felicitated by the District Health and Family Welfare Society, District Surveillance Unit, COVID War Room, Dakshina Kannada, Mangalore for serving as member in the COVID-19 death audit committee at the COVID war room, Mangalore City Corporation, Mangalore, Dakshina Kannada. His humility, kindness and dedication has been greatly appreciated by the District Health administration.
  • Dr Ramesh Bhat M., Vice Dean and Professor of Dermatology has been awarded by the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) for the services rendered as President (National) 2018 and Secretary General (National) 2010-12 of IADVL during the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of IADVL held at New Delhi, NCR, Kaushambi on 22.08.2022. He also received the award on 18.12.2021(Online) for the work as National President of IADVL on topical corticosteroids as Schedule H drug by Government of India.

She is the first Indian to receive this advanced certified healthcare simulation educator certification.

  • Dr. Ramesh Bhat M, Skin specialist and Professor of department of Dermatology, Father Muller Medical College is elected as National President Elect of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists [IADVL] in the recently held elections. He will take over as the President Elect during the 45 th National Conference of IADVL DERMACON 2017 at Kolkatta to be held from 12 to 15 th of January 2017. He is the only second Dermatologist from Mangalore and sixth in Karnataka to be elected to this post. Dr. Ramesh Bhat previously served as President of IADVL Karnataka branch in the year 2011. He also served as National Hon General Secretary of IADVL in 2010-12. He was the Organizing Secretary of successfully held 43 rd National Conference of IADVL – DERMACON 2015 at Mangalore which was attended by nearly 4,000 Dermatologists from all over the country and abroad. He is also a recipient of Dr. L.N.Sinha Memorial National Young Dermatologist Award [2009] and Prof Ratan Singh Award [2016].

  • Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science has approved Research Project of Dr. Beena Antony, Professor of Microbiology titled “Analysis of biofilm product and Antibiofilm activity in Anaerobic microbial community of human body” and sanctioned grant of Rs. 3,00,000/-.
  • Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences approved the Research Project of Dr. Princy Palatty, Professor of Pharmacology titled “ Mechanism studies to decipher the pathways responsible for the skin care effects of sandalwood (santalum album linn), a medical plant indigenous to karnataka : cell culture and in vitro studies” and sanctioned grant of Rs. 4,61,000/-

  • Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS) has approved the Research Project titled “Identification of specific variability parameters and pulse patterns for disease characterization using peripheral pulse analyzer” under Dr Jayapraksh Alva, Dean and Professor of Medicine and sanctioned grant of Rs. 15,60,700 / - for two years beginning from 2014-15.

  • Mrs. Janet Dotty Lobo was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Library & Information Science by the Mangalore University.
  • Dr Padmaja Udaykumar, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology has been appointed as Honorary Visiting Professor to the Department of Pharmacology, Anna Medical College and Research Centre, University of Technology, Mauritius.
