CME ON BASIC COURSE IN EEG
Department
of Psychiatry, Father Muller Medical College organized a CME on “Basic course in EEG" on Sunday, 11th
December 2016 in the Knowledge Centre.
More than 50 delegates from all over the State participated in the CME.
Dr Bhaskara P. Shelley,
MBBS, MD(Medicine), DM (Neurology),FRCP Edin, Professor and Head, Department of Neurology, Yenepoya
University, Mangalore was the resource person for the CME. He is a cognitive behavioural
neurologist trained at the Institute of Neurology, London and at Cambridge, United
Kingdom. He has strong clinical and research interests in the disorders of the
brain-mind interface, epilepsy, EEG
in epilepsy and non epileptic disorders, dementia, neurodegenerative disorders, disorders of movement
and cognition, neurodevelopmental disorders, and healthy brain
ageing and his key publications
reflect this interest. The course dealt with the
historical perspectives, neurophysiological imperatives, reading an EEG,
indications and applications of EEG.
The
CME was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Patrick Rodrigues, the Director of FMCI. Rev. Fr
Rudolf Ravi D’Sa, Administrator, FMMC also graced the occasion. The Programme
was well received and appreciated by all the delegates.
