Report of the ‘Well women camp’
A ‘well
women’ camp was conducted by the department of OBG, FMMC at Concetta Hospital,
Kinnigoli on 21.05.2017. The camp was
attended by parishioners, local people and members of the Rotary club and the
women welfare associations of Kinnigoli.
Dr Prema D’Cunha, Dr Sowmya Mariyappa represented the camp
along with postgraduates Dr Vimala, Dr Nimrata. Dr Sowmya spoke on the importance of well
women camp and urged the people to benefit from the camp. Patients had free gynaec examination with
free pap smear. Free blood
investigations such as Hb, RBS and bone mineral density were done. Patients were also distributed with fee Iron,
calcium, multivitamin supplements. The
needy patients were referred to FMMCH for further care. Students from FMCON gave a health talk on
menopause and did a role play on the importance of women’s health. The camp was well attended. A total number of 70 participants benefited
from the camp.
