National Bioethics Conference 2017 (REPORT)

The Department of Bioethics Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore in association with UNESCO Chair in Bioethics (Haifa- South Asia Pacific Division) along with support of Indian Institute of Science and Religion (IISR), New Delhi had jointly organized a Two Day National Bioethics Conference with the theme “Recent development in Medical Sciences & the need for exploring Innovative Ethical response: A philosophic Religious Appraisal” in Decennial Memorial Hall at Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore on 21st and 22nd of November 2017. This academic venture (conference) was first of its kind in India under the flagship of the Bioethics Unit of UNESCO (Haifa). Renowned eminent speakers (both International and national) from the field of Medical, Health and spiritual Science were united under one platform to discuss various contemporary and outstanding issues pertaining to ethical issues in the context of modern medical health care scenario, practice and its framework. Prof. (Dr) S. Geethalakshmi (Honourable Vice chancellor of The Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R Medical University, Chennai) and Dr Suchitra Nagare [Head of International Bioethics Curriculum (UNESCO Haifa) also the director executive of Max Group of Hospitals and MIT group of Institutions, Pune-Maharashtra] were the chief guests for conference inaugural.
