Report on Skin Safar Rath Report
Indian Association of Dermatologists,
Venereologists and Leprologists [IADVL National] has organized a public
awareness campaign throughout India. Skin Safar Rath- knowledge campaign about skin
diseases (leprosy, vitiligo, skin hygiene, misuse of skin creams, fungal
infections and quackery).
Skin safar Rath flagged off from New
Delhi on 21st December 2018. The Skin Safar Rath aimed to travel
from Kashmir to Kanyakumar over period of 60 days covering 11, 000 Kms
travelling 18 states all over India.
In Mangalore the Skin Safar Rath
was flagged off from Government Wenlock Hospital on 12th January
2019, Saturday at 9.00 am. The Rath arrived to Father Muller Medical College
Hospital campus at 10.45am on 12th Jan 2019.
Dr. Sukumar D, Professor & Head of
Dermatology department welcomed the Rath,
Rev. Fr Richard A Coelho Director FMCI addressed the gathering, Dr. Ramesh Bhat M, Professor of Dermatology
gave information about Skin Safar Rath. Rev. Sr Janet, Chief Nursing Officer, Staff,
Post graduates, Interns of department of Dermatology, Nursing staff and
patients were present during this occasion. Documentary on various skin disorders was
displayed for public awareness
From here the Rath proceeded to various
other places in the city.
