Disciplinary Committee
Overview
The Disciplinary Committee at Father Muller College of Nursing, Mangaluru, upholds campus-wide discipline by implementing standard operating procedures. The committee, which includes both faculty and student representatives, ensures order by addressing misconduct through hearings, investigations, and appropriate penalties. Its primary objective is to foster a safe and motivating environment by promoting positive behaviours. Disciplinary measures, ranging from suspension and fines to expulsion, are applied based on the severity of the infractions. The committee is chaired by the Principal, who, along with designated members, conducts surprise inspections and enforces strict rules to maintain an atmosphere conducive to both education and personal growth.
Objectives of Disciplinary Committee
- To ensure maintenance of discipline in the campus, college premises, classrooms as well as in the hospital.
- To achieve the goal of creating a safe, motivating and accepting college environment by supporting the use of positive attitudes and practices.
- To uptake measures for inappropriate behaviour
Functions of Disciplinary Committee
- Make surprise raids on hostels and other places vulnerable to incidents and having the potential of violation of disciplinary rules and regulations and submit report to the committee.
- The disciplinary Committee depending on the nature and gravity
of the guilt,
established by the disciplinary Squad, will award, to those found guilty, one or
more of the following
punishments, namely;
- Suspension from attending classes/ Cancellation of attendance
- Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
- Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation process.
- Withholding results.
- Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
- Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel/ college
- Cancellation of admission.
- Rustication from the institution for a specified period.
- Fine up to Rupees 50,000/- only.
