Mentor Mentee Program

OBJECTIVES

  • To help students form a more positive identification with the College by conveying genuine care and concern.
  • To motivate, inspire and provide students with moral support.
  • To contribute to the development of a strong self concept and self esteem in each of the students.
  • To provide support and guidance for the successful completion of the nursing programme.
  • To ensure that mentor mentee meets according to the guidelines outlined by the Institution.
  • Evaluate and report on the development, implementation and outcome of the programme.

Functions

  • An orientation program will be conducted in the beginning of the academic year.
  • Monthly meetings between mentor and mentee.
  • Evaluation of mentoring relation once in three months by Program coordinator/chairperson.
  • Guest Lectures to improve mentoring skills.
  • Evaluation of mentoring program at the end of the academic year by the Program Coordinator/chairperson.

The Teaching Learning and Evaluation committee of Father Muller College of Nursing organized a workshop on MENTORING SKILLS on 16 th September 2023, Syndicate Hall. Dr Rowena Wright (Associate Professor Post graduate department of business administration, AIMIT at St. Aloysius College Mangalore) and Dr. Annette Sonia Maben (Assistant Professor, Department of MBA at AIMIT, St. Aloysius College Mangalore). A total of 38 teachers were benefitted from the workshop.

Teaching Learning Committee of Father Muller College of Nursing has conducted one day workshop on On July 23, 2022 titled MENTORING SKILLS-"MAKE US DO WHAT WE CAN" The resource persons were, Dr. Shalini Aiyappa (HOD, Department of Psychology, St. Aloysius College, Mangalore) and Dr. S. Ruban (HOD, PG Department of Software Technology & Mentoring Team Head, St. Aloysius College, Mangalore). A total of 44 teachers were benefitted from the workshop.
