MULLER SMASH 2K18 – Inter State Volleyball Tournament
Muller Smash 2K18 - an Inter State
Volleyball Tournament was held at the Father Muller Indoor Stadium on 24th
June 2018. Inaugural of the same took
place at 9.00 am. Shri Vedavyas Kamath,
Hon’ble MLA, Mangalore City South was the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr Richard A. Coelho, Director, FMCI
presided over the function. Rev. Fr
Rudolph R. D’Sa, Administrator, FMMCH, Rev. Fr Ajith Menezes, Administrator,
FMMC, Dr J.P. Alva, Dean, FMMC and Mr Chandrashekar the Physical Education
Instructor of the College, were present on the dais.
The program began with invoking blessings
from God followed by words of welcome by Mr Chandrashekar. The Chief Guest Shri
Vedavyas Kamath was felicitated on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering Shri Kamath asked
everyone to keep up the spirit of sportsmanship. He also appreciated the
initiative of Father Muller Charitable Institutions to promote sports and
games.
Giving the Presidential address, the
Director said that Father Muller Charitable Institutions always emphasizes on
Stay Fit Stay Healthy concept. She
wished the participating teams all the best.
Rev. Fr Ajith Menezes proposed the vote of
thanks. Dr Rithesh D’Cunha, Senior
Resident, Anaesthesiology department compered the inaugural programme.
This was followed by inauguration of the
tournament.
8 Volleyball teams from different States
which included players of National fame participated in the tournament.
Trophies were handed over and prizes were
distributed by Rev. Fr Ajith Menezes to the winning teams and individual
players during the closing ceremony held later in the evening.
