Department of Medical Imaging Technology

The Department of Medical Imaging Technology at FMCI Mangalore was established in 1994.We providecomprehensive BSc and MSc programmes in Medical Imaging Technology. These programs are intended to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the field of medical imaging, which is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions. The curriculum combines theoretical learning with hands-on clinical training to prepare graduates for the demands of the healthcare industry.

    BSc in Medical Imaging Technology:

    Duration: 3 years + 1 year internship

    Objective: To provide foundational knowledge and practical skills in various imaging modalities such as X-ray, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound.

    Career Opportunities: Radiologic technologist, imaging specialist, and roles in hospitals, diagnostic centers, and research institutions.

    MSc in Medical Imaging Technology:

    Duration: 2 years

    Objective: To advance the expertise of graduates in specialized imaging techniques and research methodologies.

    Career Opportunities: Advanced positions in medical imaging, academia, research, and leadership roles in healthcare settings.
