Observance of The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
On the observance of The International Day against Drug
Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, on 26 June 2023, the Department of Child Health
Nursing faculty and the III-year BSc. Nursing students organized an awareness
program on Drug Abuse and Its Effects at St. Joseph's High School, Kankanady,
Mangaluru.
The programme commenced at 2.30 PM. The students were given awareness through a role play, a short movie on drug abuse, and a PowerPoint presentation. The teaching mainly contained the meaning of drug abuse, its causes, consequences, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitative measures. The headmistress, Mrs Sylvia Dsouza, recited the pledge against drug abuse. The beneficiaries were 63 children, including nine teaching and non-teaching staff.
