Director's message

It is with great pleasure and delight that I once again earnestly convey a short message that will reach many people on this great occasion - The Decennial of Father Muller Hospital Thumbay (FMHT). At the very outset, as we step into the second decade of progress of this institution, along with all who support this effort pledge to serve the designs of the Most High.

This nascent institution that is now ten years old, has expanded in leaps and bounds with several specialty and selected super specialty services, including Dialysis units with an envisioned capacity to grow. The vital demand for care led to the establishment of a nursing college (Father Muller Nursing College, Thumbay) which is a great blessing on the Decennial Celebrations, with an intake of 40 students. We have dedicated ourselves to build the best infrastructure for academia and increase our annual intake to 100 students.

Growth, as almost everywhere is not a constant, in Father Mullers, our vision consistently is to bring in Allied Health Courses and GNM programmes with all round development of students, taking care of their every need. The hospital will soon have its peripheral centre as a boon for the poor and sick, creating awareness and health in further outlying regions of our great land. Father Mullers, is a synonym for compassionate service to humanity, which is inculcated in the very nature of its faculty, staff and students. For the vast population outside, Father Mullers, is a protective umbrella for the poor and shelters many deserving under its shade day in and day out.

The Father Muller Charitable Institutions is in its 143 year of existence (Estd. 1880), its profound inestimable human infrastructural and academic capacities and capabilities is phenomenal and boundless. Growth will never ever eclipse our Founder Rev. Fr Augustus Muller SJ’s aims of value for charity, healing, love, empathy, and more; all the while maintaining the eternal motto of ‘Heal and Comfort’. We have grown; our Alumni stand tall in the world, Our Educational units are one of its kind with accreditations and our well-wishers zeal and appreciation, provides us the forward momentum for success.

We are now a WiFi generation, always connecting better with the world, and always doing our best with each other. Social Media has become the order of the day and online universal access is at our fingertips. Though Ethernet connects to synthesize information, the fingertip to the brain connection is at times confused. We need to better our inward connect and the spiritual connect for our enhanced wellbeing.

Decennial celebrations on May 2, 2023 are a fitting tribute to all who use this facility in Thumbay. These 10 years of the Father Muller brand at Thumbay has been a period of joy and work, not only for the Management but also for the people in the surrounding region. We are a people who have taken upon ourselves to fructify the Mandate of Christ, to help those in need and medicine for those who suffer. I humbly extend at all times and always, my sincere appreciation and thanks to one and all who share in this Divine Mission. Best wishes for the Decennial Celebrations and many more years to come according to the will of the Supreme.
