GNM COURSE (62nd BATCH) INAUGURATION

 The course inauguration of 62nd batch of General Nursing and Midwifery programme was held on 23rd of September 2019 at 10.00 a.m. in Decennial Memorial Hall. Mrs Jasmine Sarita Vas, Principal, Father Muller School of Nursing, escorted the dignitaries to the dais and welcomed the gathering. The chief guest Dr Leena Sequeira, Principal Manipal School of Nursing, Manipal, Rev. Fr Richard A. Coelho, the Director FMCI presided over the program. Chief Guest lit the lamp in a traditional way by marking the symbol of inauguration of 62nd batch of GNM. The chief guest was introduced to the gathering by Mrs Caroline Smitha, asst. Lecturer, and Father Muller School Of Nursing.

Dr Leena Sequeira in her address said “Nurses are the back bone of health care and they make the difference by being consultants in healthcare”. Madam also said that, fresher’s need to develop Critical thinking and scientific reasoning and decision making with her practical experiences. She gave her testimony, stating that nurses are co-consultants in healthcare and the knowledge gained through the course will make oneself more confident in their future endeavour. She concluded by saying, set a goal and then only will a career be formed.

Rev. Fr Richard A Coelho, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, in his presidential address said, nurses are the heart beat of the health care and that students yearning to be nurses should have discipline, dedication and devotion towards their goals. He opined that being a Nurse is not a profession but a vocation, a vocation through the calling of God. He also provided his wisdom saying, study not for a job which makes you a mediocre but for passion which will raise you up in the profession and academics.

Mrs Nathalia D’Cunha, the class co-ordinator of 1st year GNM proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs Stacy Mavin Pinto, asst. Lecturer, Father Muller School of Nursing compered the program.

Rev. Fr Rudolp Ravi D’Sa, Administartor, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Rev. Fr Ajith B Menezes, Administartor, Father Muller Medical College, Sr Janet D’Souza, Chief Nursing Officer, Sr Jacintha, Principal Father Muller College of Nursing were present.
