Cancer Screening and Awareness Camp at St.Teresa Church Hall Paldane

February 27, 2024, a successful one-day cancer screening and awareness camp
took place at St. Teresa Church Hall in Paldane. This initiative, organized by
Father Muller Medical College Hospital in partnership with St. Raphaela Mary
Convent and Kolkata St. Teresa Church Paldane, was led by the Jewels Group. The
camp offered a range of medical services, including a Pap Smear Test conducted
by the Department of OBG,Breast ExaminationPerformed by the Department of
General Surgery, Oral ExaminationOffered by the Department of Oncology, ECG
Testing, GRBSChecking and dispensing of free medicines. Dr. Venita
Fernandes, a Gynaecologist, and Dr. Rohan C Gatty, a Surgical Oncologist
from Father Muller Medical College Hospital, provided public awareness sessions
on cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. The camp was effectively
coordinated by Ms. Deepika N C, Assistant Professor from the Department of
Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON). Four
second-year Post Basic BSc (PBBSc) Nursing students from Father Muller College
of Nursing actively participated in the camp. They supported the event by assisting
with registration, BP Monitoring, assisting in Pap smear tests and dispensing
free medicines. The camp attracted 115 beneficiaries. The event was
instrumental in promoting health awareness and offering essential screenings to
the local community.
