Report on First Aid Training Programme

On 15/06/2016 first aid training programme was conducted for the 60 employees of PLANT-TECH INDUSTRIAL SERVICES LTD, Baikampady, Mangalore in the Conference Hall of Father Muller Medical College Hospital.  The course was inaugurated at 9.30 am by  lighting the lamp and presided over by Rev Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital. Dr Udaya  Kumar, Medical Superintendent, Sr Aileen, Chief Nursing Officer, Mr Roshan, Supervisorof Plant-tech Industrial Services, Valerian Sudeep Pinto organizing secretary were present.  Sr Aileen welcomed the dignitaries and delegates. Rev Fr Richard Coelho in his presidential address highlighted the importance of First Aid and called upon the delegates to be skillful and alert during the programme.  Programme was ended by vote of thanks by Mr Valerian Pinto and Institutional Anthem.

            After the refreshment morning theory sessions were conducted by Sr Aileen, Dr Udaya Kumar and Mr Valerian followed by afternoon practical sessions by Mrs Thara Machado, MICU ward Incharge. In the afternoon session they were divided into 6 groups each consisting 10 members each and demonstrated CPR (Adult and Paediatric), Chocking management, drowning management, snake bite, froze bite, dog bite, Insect bite, bleeding, (nose and wound), burns management (electrical, chemical and thermal), patient transport (cervical injury), management of poisoning. After the evening session refreshment was arranged with snacks and tea.  The programme was ended at 4.30 P.M.
