Dear Principal, Faculty, Staff and Students,

Greetings of peace to all of you.

Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) is a Christian Religious Minority Institutions, a Registered Society, owned by the Diocese of Mangalore. This Institute was founded by a German missionary Jesuit Priest Rev. Fr Augustus Muller in the year 1880. He was a visionary Homoeopath who started FMCI as a small Homoeopathy dispensary. “Heal and Comfort” are the two bywords for service of this Institution which renders yeomen service to the suffering humans. Today after 140 years the seed sown is grown into a big tree having nursing and medical education along with College of Allied Health Sciences and College of Speech and Hearing.

In the year 1980 the Institutions celebrated its 100 years of useful existence and as a gift of Centenary Celebration, Homoeopathic Medical College was started in Father Mullers in the year 1985. The College which was earlier situated in Kankanady was relocated with grandeur to the present location at Derlakatte. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, Karnataka State and is recognized by Central Council of Homoeopathy and Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi. The College conducts Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes and is the only College in Karnataka to offer PG courses in all 7 specialities. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the College with ‘A’ grade making it the first Homoeopathic Medical College under RGUHS to be accredited. The College has vast campus with plenty of greenery with shade giving and fruit bearing trees. The campus is adorned with a play ground for the students for recreation and to tap their talents in sports activities. Separate hostel facility is available for gents and ladies. In the centre of the campus the power house- the Chapel of our Lady of Fatima satisfies the spiritual needs of the students. Holy Mass is celebrated every day in the morning and on Sundays, and students actively participate in the liturgical celebrations. The College is involved very much in research activities.

The faculty, post graduates and under graduates are geared towards the promotion of Homoeopathy and research activities. The College has a vast library with national/international journals and periodicals. A full-fledged homoeopathy hospital with 150 beds and state-of-the-art facilities are available. Those students who come to Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College have no regrets. The College has bagged number of ranks and gold medals at the University level; a clear indication that the College has well qualified and dedicated faculty.

Dear students, all of us are hit badly by Covid-19 Corona Virus pandemic. The recent lockdown and the ever increasing attack of Covid-19 is understandable that we too begin to feel an increasing stress. After joining Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, you began your professional journey as students now that you are longing to come back, let us wait and pray God to show mercy on the world for the total eradication of this menace. All other Homoeopathy aspirants you too have faced so many difficulties and stress regarding your plus two examinations. Now that finally you are waiting for the results, you are also preparing for AIAPGET. Our College is organizing a program, “Revision” to provide coaching for the AIAPGET.

Our College is also organizing a program “Pro-Vision” – a webinar series to reach out to our alumni. We value our alumni who are the strongest link to promote homoeopathic system of medicine. This program was also to target young aspirants of homoeopathy. The eminent speakers share their expertise with homoeopathic fraternity.

In view of Covid – 19, many graduated are not able to reach out to their Colleges to get direct coaching, hence online crash course was made available to them. Re-Vision is to rebrush their knowledge and also to look at in a different perspective.

Dear Students, Welcome to Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College. You all are unique to enter and be the future faces, hands and hearts of Homoeopathy and to take it into the great 21st century – world of technology. In India the Government is strongly supporting the “alternate system of medicine” that is Homoeopathy.

Homoeopathy in India too has faced struggles for at least a century now. Mangalore is known all over the world for its rich homoeopathic traditions, all because of Fr Muller SJ, a visionary homeopath, the founder of our Institutions. The history of Homeopathy in Mangalore which is also the bench mark for the South is the story of our Fr Muller the sole pioneer. I quote Mahatma Gandhi - “Homeopathy cures a larger percentage of cases than any other method of treatment and is beyond doubt safer and economical and most complete medical science”.

Once again dear faculty, give your best to the students to mould them to be world class Homeopaths. Your hard work and dedication in mentoring the students will certainly bear fruit. So be ready for sacrifice to mould young minds for their well-being.

To all students and freshers, enter into a new scheme of a professional study life. Take up your role with responsibility, dedication and commitment. Have a wonderful journey in Father Mullers. A hearty welcome to you all and God bless.
