FAREWELL 2023

Memory is the treasure house of the mind wherein the monuments thereof are kept and preserved." Says Thomas Fuller. The Father Muller College Department of Speech & Hearing organized "FAREWELL 2023" on 26th of August 2023, for the B.ASLP batch 2019, 2020, M.Sc. Audiology batch 2021 and M.Sc. Speech Language Pathology 2021. The program commenced at 11: 30 am in the Decennial Memorial Hall.

The host of the program, Ms Lenisha Crasta of III year B.ASLP   welcomed the dignitaries and all the students and staff to this auspicious event. The Principal, Ms Cynthia Santhmayor, escorted the esteemed dignitaries, Director, Rev Fr Richard Coelho, the President of the function, Rev Fr Nelson DheerajPias, Assistant Administrator, FMMCH, Rev Fr George Jeevan Sequeira, Administrator, FMMCH, Dr B. Sanjeev Rai, Chief of Research, Dr Antony Sylvan Dsouza, Dean, FMMC and Mrs Jyothi Pinto, HR Manger, to this beautiful occasion.

As a tribute to the departed soul, Mr Meffin Thomas, the gathering paid a moment of silence, as they mourned the loss of such a cheerful and loving companion and a friend.

The Principal of the college, Ms. Cynthia Santhmayor escorted the dignitaries on to the dias. The students of batch 2021 invoked God's blessings on this auspicious occasion through a Prayer song.

Ms. Divya Antony of III year B.ASLP welcomed the gathering and quoted "Goodbyes are not forever; goodbyes are not the end; they simply mean I will miss you until we meet again." She took the Farewell batch on a trip down the memory lane of their college life, in FMC department of Speech & Hearing and wished them luck for the future..

Next, the dignitaries on the dais along with a student from the Farewell Batch joined for the lamp lighting ceremony.

 The Principal, Ms. Cynthia Santhmayor, the driving force behind the college's success, delivered the message to the students. She asked the students to keep climbing up the Ladder of Success and also work hard to make even a small difference in someone's life, and these small efforts could bring a change in the world.

To make the event more memorable Director Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho along with other dignitaries on the diashanded over the mementos to the Farewell Batch.

Ms Svetlana Gonsalves from Batch 2019 and Ms Anisha Sequeira from Batch 2020 shared their experiences and beautiful memories of their college life.

Clinical conference and Journal Club are conducted every year to enhance skills of research and clinical practice and to prepare the students for an upcoming field of research.Ms. Sushmitha U J announced the best Clinical Conference  award for UG and Ms. Viona D'Souza announced the best Journal Club award for PG.

The Under Uraduate students of Ms Anisha Michel Sequeira and          Ms Rimsha Abdul Jaleel bagged the Best Clinical Conference Award for the topic 'Bacterial Meningitis and Hearing Loss' which was guided Ms Viona Dsouza.

The Post Graduate student of Ms Rania bagged the Best Journal Club Award for the topic 'Hidden Hearing Loss: A disorder with Multiple Etiologies and Mechanisms' guided by Dr Shreyank P Swamy.

The President of the function, Director Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho delivered the presidential address. A minute of silence was observed to pay respect to the departed soul of Rt Rev. Msgr Baptist Menezes, the former Director of FMCI. The Director then wished the farewell batch good luck for all their future endeavors and thanked them for choosing to be a part of the Mullerian Family.

The Principal Ms. Cynthia Santhmayor then escorted the dignitaries off the dais and join the rest to enjoy the following short program that was set up by the students.

Where words fail music speaks. The students arranged a beautiful melody of songs and kept the gathering entertained with their melodious voices.

A video showing the beautiful journey of the Farewell batch in Father Muller College Department of Speech and Hearing was screened to take the students on a trip down the memory lane.

Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul." Quotes Henry Ward Beecher. Ms. Roshni Dsilva of III Year B.ASLP delivered the vote of thanks and thanked the seniors for their guidance, friendship,for being role models to all the juniors and bid them Goodbye.

The event concluded with the institutional anthem, followed by which the dignitaries joined for a photograph with the outgoing students.

Delicious Lunch was provided to all the dignitaries, staff, and students. Overall, the 'FAREWELL 2023' was a huge success.
