75th Independence Day celebration at Father Muller Hospital Thumbay

The 75th anniversary of our Independence Day (Platinum Jubilee) celebration was held at Father Muller Hospital Thumbay on Monday   15th August 2022 at 8.15am. The hospital staff, BSc Nursing Students & others  assembled in front of the hospital for the flag hoisting ceremony.

Rev. Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator FMHT welcomed the gathering. Dr Kiran Shetty, Medical Superintendent was present for the programme. Rev. Fr Ronald Lobo, Chaplain Father Muller Charitable Institutions was the chief guest for the celebration.

The programme was started by seeking the blessings of the Almighty through a prayer song, sung by 1st year BSc Nursing Students of Father Muller Nursing College, Thumbay.  It was Followed  by Hoisting the National Flag by the Chief Guest Rev. Fr Ronald Lobo

Addressing the gathering the Chief Guest said, "This 75th independence is the result of many decades of struggle and sacrifice. We pay special tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters. The privilege of Independence we are experiencing today is the result of their selfless spirit of struggles & sacrifices. India is the greatest country with regards to having its own constitution. It's necessary to have a minimum qualification to become a political leader.  Fr also said that "The day every Indian citizen could walk freely on the roads at night, that day we can say that India has achieved complete independence." On this occasion, we pray for the departed souls of the freedom fighters who have sacrificed their life for our country.

The celebration was concluded by distribution of sweets to the gathering.
