Environment Awareness and Swaccha Abhiyana programme at Thumbay Bus Stand
On the occasion of 74th Republic day, Father Muller Hospital Thumbay, NSS Unit of Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay, and Thumbay Grama Panchayath organised an environment Awareness and Swaccha Abhiyana programme at Thumbay Bus Stand on 26-02-2023 from 9.30 am to 11.30am.
Rev Fr. Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator, Father Muller Hospital Thumbay welcomed the gathered and gave an introductory speech. The awareness programme was conducted with Street Play by the nursing students of Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay.
Shri Praveen B Thumbe, President of the Gram Panchayath, spoke in detail about Environment awareness and gave the speech on littering waste on the sides of the national highway, the negative impact and sewage from being released into the rain water drains and informed about pollution hazards on human beings, animals and on Nature Save environment and to save nature and keep it clean by using cloth bags instead plastic bags.
Panchayath Development Officer Smt Chandrawathi, Mrs. Janet Sequeira, Mrs Melisha Lobo Lecturers Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay, Panchayath Members Ganesh Salyan, Ibrahim Valavoor, Mrs. Jayanthi Sridhara, Mrs. Jayanthi Keshav, Mrs. Shashikala Manohar Kottari, Mrs. Jacinta D'Souza, Retd MRPL Officer Mr Sadashiva D Tumbe, Irfan Tumbe, Mohammed Altaf Thumbe, Ashoka Kondana, Rajeeva Gandalachhil were present for the programme.
Mr Sanketh Bangera was MC for the programme. 20 nursing students, 20 Father Muller non teaching staff and 15 Grama Panchayath members joined hands to clean the Thumbay bus stand area.
