Inaugural Of Certified Home Nursing Assistant (CHNA) Course

CHNA COURSE is a pioneering initiative by the Father Muller Simulation & Skill Centre in association with the Nursing Service Department. This one-month structured course aims to enhance the competencies of individuals interested in applying as a home health aide. The candidates will receive 100 hours of clinical postings, 36 hours of hands on training and 24 hours of assignment work. They will also undergo the AHA certified Heartsaver CPR Course. At the end of the course, they will be assessed both in theory and practical.Once they complete the course successfully & clear the no dues, they will be issued a certificate by Father Muller Simulation & Skill Centre certifying them as a HOME NURSING ASSISTANT.This certificate is valid for 5 years and can be renewed before expiry after appearing for the competency-based exam by paying a nominal fee. A CHNA can produce this certificate to apply for a job in a homecare setting only.

The course was inaugurated by the Rev.Fr.Richard Coelho, Director FMCI on May 6th at 09.30 am in Conference Hall. Dr Rithesh D'Cunha Administrative Incharge FMSSC welcomed the gathering.  Rev Fr Rudolph Ravi Dsa and Rev Fr Ajith Menezes , Administrators of FMMCH & FMMC also participated in the inaugural. Dean & Chairperson of the  Simulation Centre, Dr Jayaprakash Alva & CNO Sr.Janet released the course Log Book. Members of the management, ANS & students registered for the course attended the inaugural.
