The 22nd issue of the Annual College Magazine Pioneer 2019
The
release of the 22nd issue of the Annual College Magazine Pioneer
2019 of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College took place in the College Auditorium
on 06th November 2019. Rev. Fr Francis Assisi D’Almeida, Director,
Sandesha, Foundation for Culture and Education was the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr
Frank Rodrigues was the Guest of Honor.
The
function began with invocation prayer song sung by the Interns of 2019-20 batch
at 3.00 PM.
Rev.
Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and
Hospital welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. In his welcome
speech, the Administrator said that Pioneer is the best practice of FMHMC compiled
from the contribution from staff and students who are pioneer in following the
footsteps of Father Augustus Muller.
Dr
K John Paul, Associate Professor & H.O.D, Department of Surgery and Staff
Editor of Pioneer 2019 gave his remarks and walked the audience through the
journey the editorial board had travelled to bring out the magazine.
After
the remarks, the Chief Guest released the magazine. The dignitaries joined him.
In his speech, he congratulated the editorial board in taking the task of composing
the magazine. He expressed “Just like freedom to speech and expression, writing
too is an artâ€. Pioneer is instrumental in sharing knowledge.
Prizes
were distributed to the winners of the Essay Writing Competition and Cover
Design Contests held in view of Pioneer 2019 by the Director.
Dr
Shivaprasad K, Principal, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College introduced
and welcomed Rev. Fr Frank Rodrigues, Former Spiritual Director, FMCI and Guest
of Honour. He was felicitated on this occasion for completing 52 years of
Priesthood and guiding the young students as well as the parishioners. And also
for his services in proof reading of various magazines of the Institution all these years.
Rev.
Fr Frank addressed the gathering explaining his association with proofreading
and editing of various magazines for the past 15 years. He commended the
standard and quality of this year’s magazine which has taken a considerable leap.
Rev.
Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho gave his presidential address. He mentioned that he
is happy to be a part of the release of 22nd edition of Pioneer
recalling Fr Muller as the Pioneer of Homoeopathy in India. The magazine
depicts the history of the Institution and the journey and achievements of the
students as a memoir.
He
presented a memento to the Chief Guest as a token of gratitude.
Ms
Rosemary Ann Shaji, Magazine Secretary, Student Association 2019-20 proposed
the vote of thanks.
The
function was concluded with the Institution Anthem.
