Republic Day Celebrations in Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College
Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College witnessed the 71st
Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January 2020. With the spirit of patriotism,
students and faculty members gathered in the College premises at 8.45 AM. The
programme began with the prayer song led by Swathi Manoj of III BHMS. Mr M Noah
Sharon, President Student Association, 2020 extended a warm welcome and
introduced the Chief Guest, Dr Anita Lobo, Professor, Department of Repertory. The
guard of honor is led by Ms Madhuri, guided the chief guest to hoist the
National flag.
The
flag hoisting was done by the Chief Guest, Dr. Anita Lobo, which was
followed by reciting the National Anthem. In her address she motivated the
students to be better citizens of the nation. She emphasized on the equality
among people, and to inculcate values the Tricolor signifies in our lives. She also stressed on
following the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom and
also in upholding and protecting the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of
India.
Dr Shivaprasad K, Principal in his speech, highlighted the
importance of promoting harmony and common brotherhood transcending religious,
linguistic and regional or sectional diversities.
Rev. Fr Roshan Crasta, in his message, cited the famous poem Where the mind is without fear written by the legendary writer and freedom
fighter, Rabindranath Tagore and thus urged the gathering to be honest, open
minded and industrious to achieve the apex of success.
This was followed by the national song Vande Mataram.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Ashmitha Alicia Coth,
General Secretary, Student Association 2020.
