Republic Day 2022
The 73rd Republic Day was
celebrated at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College campus on 26.01.2022
at 8.30am . Republic Day marks an important event in India's history.
It commemorates the enactment of the constitution of India which came into
effect on January 26, 1950 and made the Nation into a Republic.
The programme commenced at 8.30am by invoking
the blessings of the almighty through a prayer song lead by Dr Kavya and team.

Fr Rohan Dais, Principal Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran, Chief Guest Dr
Amitha Baliga, Former Principal and the august gathering. He introduced the
chief guest Dr Amitha Baliga.
Chief guest Dr Amitha Baliga hoisted
the National flag and in her message emphasised that "The essence of Republic
Day lies in the promise that we will always follow our constitution and make
our country proud in our actions. She stressed upon the quote by Pandit Jawaharlal
Nehru, our first Prime Minister of India who said "Citizenship consists in the
service of the country" and those words are relevant even today.
The whole world is going through a difficult
phase today with the COVID pandemic. We as medical professionals have a special
responsibility in this battle against COVID. The contribution of a doctor
towards a healthy nation is as valuable as that of an army personnel. So we all
must rise to this occasion and fullfill
our duties and responsibilities. She concluded by stating with freedom in mind,
strength in our resolve, pureness in our heart, pride in our souls, zeal in our
efforts ,lets salute our India on republic day.

Rev Fr Roshan Crasta garlanded the
portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar, the Chief architect of the Constitution of India, and a Founding Father of the Republic of India. Rev Fr
Roshan Crasta highlighted in his message that the importance of celebrating
republic day lies in remembering and respecting those who have contributed and sacrificed
their life for the freedom of our Nation. Emphasised that it is our duty to
remind ourselves our responsibilities towards our society and nation ,to recall
that we have to uphold the oneness and integrity of our nation. Being health
care professionals, we have to realise that our contribution matters in the
growth and development of our country. He also stressed the importance of the
constitution by mentioning it as the scripture of our nation, we have one constitution,
on Republic day. We are reminded to abide by the articles, rules and guidelines
in the constitution irrespective of language, religion, caste and respect each
other as brethren. In the current pandemic situation doctors contribution is
very important, we have to rise to the needs of the nation in healing and
comforting the sick and the afflicted.

the event.
