Homoeopathic Medical College took part in the International Day of Yoga
observed by the Department AYUSH, Dakshina Kannada District at Town Hall,
Mangaluru on 21.06.2022. The programme began with prayer. Dr K V Rajendra, IAS,
Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District and Shri Vedavyas Kamath, MLA,
Mangaluru South inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. On the occasion
Shri Veddavyas Kamath is his message said that India introduced Yoga to the
world. The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on June 21st
since 2015 following the inception in the United Nations General Assembly. Yoga
is a physical, mental & spiritual practice. It helps in maintaining health.
He called upon participants to practice yoga to promote it. The inaugural
programme was followed by the mass yoga session lead by Yoga guru Gopalkrishna
Delampady. He explained the importance of each yoga asanas. Government servants,
members of yoga associations and students of various colleges took part in the
session.

SP Rishikesh Sonavane, Additional DC Krishnamurthi, Fisheries Corporation
Chairman Nithin Suvarna, Major Premanand Shetty, District AYUSH officer Dr
Mohammed Iqbal & other officials were present at the programme.
