QUEST 2022 - CME on Recent Advances in Forensic Medicine
A National CME - QUEST '22 on Recent Advances in
Forensic Medicine, organized by the Department of Forensic Medicine and
Toxicology, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College was held in the
Decennial Memorial Hall, Father Muller Medical College on Sunday, 18th
December 2022.
Principal Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran welcomed the gathering of 270 delegates that
included faculty and students of various institutions.
The Chief Guest was Dr Prateek Rastogi, Professor and Head,
Department of Forensic Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, lit the
lamp of knowledge along with Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho and the
Administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital Rev. Fr Roshan Crasta to inaugurate QUEST
'22.
Dr Prateek Rastogi addressed the
delegates and stressed on the importance of adaption and updating the field of
medicine especially in purview of forensic medicine. Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius
Coelho who presided over the inaugural, expressed that learning is a
never-ending process and how updating one leads to advancement.
The morning sessions were
enlightened by Dr Viswakanth B,
Professor, Department of Forensic Medicine, Kanachur Institute of Medical
Sciences, Mangalore regarding 'Recent acts and Amendments in India', and Dr Ram Jyothis, Professor & Head,
Deaprtment of Homoeopathic Pharmacy, ANSS Homoeopathic Medical College,
Kottayam, about 'Toxicology in relation to Homoeopathic Materia Medica and
Pharmacy'. These sessions were moderated by Dr Hareesh Gouda, Professor & Head, Department Forensic
Medicine, Father Muller Medical College and Dr Srinath Rao, Professor, Department of Materia Medica, Father
Muller Homoeopathic Medical College respectively.
The afternoon session was dealt
by Dr Rohan S Monis, Chief
Administrative Officer, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Mangalore on the
topic 'Practical implications of Advanced Directives in Real-time Scenario'.
The CME ended at 4 PM. The vote
of thanks was proposed by Prof. Dr
Madona Joseph, Organizing Secretary and Head of Department of Forensic
Medicine, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College. Dr Ameer C T was
instrumental in organizing this event.
